Using DoseClicks — benefits & how our calculator helps
What does DoseClicks do?
DoseClicks converts the number of clicks on your weekly weight-loss pen into the accurate medication dose for Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy or Zepbound so you don’t have to guess. You can also reverse calculate – inpiu the dose you need and get the number of clicks needed for that specific dose.
Why use the calculator instead of a static click chart?
Our calculator reads your specific pen type and shows the exact clicks-to-dose for that pen and strength – click charts are generic and can be wrong for different pen volumes.

Is the calculator free?
Yes – the core Clicks-to-Dose Calculator on doseclicks.com is free to use.
Does it work for Ozempic, Mounjaro and Wegovy ?
Yes – the tool supports those four brands in that order (Ozempic → Mounjaro → Wegovy). Please note that a standard box of Zepbound comes with four pens, each prefilled and designed for one-time use to make injections simple, so there are no clicks with this medicine.
Why You Might Need the Dose Clicks Calculator?
While most people follow a standard dosage schedule, a healthcare provider might prescribe a custom or partial dose for several important reasons:
Cost-Saving Strategies: Under medical supervision, some patients are prescribed larger, multi-dose pens to administer smaller weekly doses, which can be a more economical approach.
Managing Side Effects: If you’re sensitive to the medication, your doctor may suggest a smaller, intermediate dose (for example, 0.75mg instead of jumping from 0.5mg to 1.0mg) to help your body adjust more slowly and reduce nausea or other side effects.
Custom Titration Schedules: Your doctor may create a unique dosage plan tailored to your specific health needs and how you respond to the treatment, which may not align with the standard step-up doses.
Why is a calculator safer than guessing clicks?
Pens and pen sizes differ (amount per click and total pen overfill). The calculator uses pen-specific data so you don’t under- or overdose.
Can the calculator tell me how many clicks are left in my pen?
No — you can look at the window in the pen that gives you a visual inspection of the remaining dose. It is an approximation, and remember that usually there is more than needed liquid in the pen.
Do these weight loss injection pens actually work?
Yes, for many people. Medications like Tirzepatide (Zepbound®, Mounjaro®) and Semaglutide (Wegovy®, Ozempic®) have been shown in clinical trials to be highly effective for weight management and blood sugar control when combined with diet and exercise. They work by mimicking natural hormones that regulate appetite and insulin, helping you feel full longer and reducing hunger.
Does the calculator replace your prescriber’s instructions?
No – it’s a tool to help interpret pen clicks. Always follow your prescriber’s dose plan and the pen IFU.
Reference: Novo Nordisk, Ozempic IFU – PDF link
Can the calculator handle dose-titration schedules?
Yes – enter your target doses and schedule and it shows clicks for each step.
Is it safe to split doses or take custom doses by counting clicks?
You should only alter your dose under the direct guidance of your healthcare provider. This tool is designed to help you follow your doctor’s specific instructions. Self-administering a non-prescribed dose without medical supervision can be dangerous. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before making any changes to your treatment plan.
Is it accurate for single-use vials vs multi-dose pens?
We distinguish pen types. For single-use vials the click-count method isn’t applicable – the calculator tells you when that’s the case.
Can it help if you want a “microdose” lower than label doses?
It will show approximate clicks for smaller amounts, but microdosing is off-label; discuss with your medical provider.
Does the calculator show safety notes (e.g., max clicks per injection)?
No- A recommended dose and or titration is an individual matter that your physician will instruct you. All weight-loss injections pens come with a specipic maximal dose (when the dosing knob come to its end), so you cannot take a dose larger than the maximal dose for that specific pen.
Reference: Lilly, Mounjaro Instructions for Use – link
How does DoseClicks handle pen variations (1.5 mL vs 3 mL etc.)?
It uses the pen’s labeled concentration and total volume to compute clicks per mg, avoiding generic mistakes.
Reference: Novo Nordisk, Ozempic IFU – PDF link
Is my data stored?
We do not store personal health data. The calculation is actually done within your personal browser so even the calculation made by you remains on your device.
Can I print or export the click plan for my prescriber/pharmacist?
The click plan is the one your physician recommended for you and that is why he/she prescribed you a certain pen. In case he/she advised you to use less than the maximal dose for that specific pen – here comes doseclicks.com calculator, to facilitate calculation of the dose your physician asked you to take.
